Half-life is the time it takes a blood level to fall by half. It sets how fast a compound leaves, how much it accumulates dose to dose, and how long a schedule takes to settle — and it says nothing at all about how strong the compound is.
On an unchanged schedule, a blood level climbs for about five half-lives before it stops rising. For testosterone enanthate that is roughly five weeks; for undecanoate it is closer to three months. Here is why, and what the climb looks like.

The blood level falls to a few percent of its peak after about five and a half half-lives. That puts an oral at a couple of days and a long ester at several months — and it is a different question from how long a test can detect it.

Because each dose lands before the previous ones have cleared. It takes roughly five half-lives to reach a steady level, so testosterone undecanoate at a 20 days half-life is still climbing for about 14.3 weeks, and nandrolone decanoate for about 7.3 weeks. That accumulation is the thing most people miscalculate on paper.
